About service
Originally I developed this service only for my personal needs: I've got a Windows Mobile phone and it had no native Brightkite application as iPhones and Android-based phones. At the same time I had the Google Maps application with Google Latitude support so I searched for a way to pull my location from Google Latitude and post it to Brightkite. When I got it working I thought that it could be somewhat useful for other people and wrapped the core into the application designed for Google App Engine. Here you can see the results of this work. Any suggestions and bug notices are appreciated.
What is Google Latitude?
Google Latitude is a tool that allows you to:
- See where your friends are and what they are up to
- Quickly contact them with SMS, IM, or a phone call
